Commissioning works are ongoing at the nitrogen production unit and utility air production unit of the Amur GPP first Start-up Complex. These products are necessary to support the main processes.
Nitrogen is produced in gaseous form: low, medium and high pressure. For instance, this gas is required for factory equipment strength and leak testing, as an operating gas when displacing liquid hydrocarbons from drainage drums or during cleaning pipelines. In turn, utility air is required for the operation of instruments, for example, for pneumatic equipment power supply.
The nitrogen and air production unit at the Amur Gas Processing Plant is of the cryogenic type, which ensures high purity of products separated. Besides, this unit has increased capacity. It produces more than 18 thousand cubic meters per hour of nitrogen and more than 26 thousand cubic meters of utility air per hour.
The Amur Gas Processing Plant of PJSC Gazprom will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing sites with a capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Commercial products, in addition to purified methane, will include ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane fraction, and helium.
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management.
