Anna Igoshina, laboratory assistant at Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, wins Young Scientist 4.0 programme of Global Energy Association

Anna Igoshina, a chemical analysis technician at the Amur GPP central laboratory, has won the All-Russian Young Scientist 4.0 programme implemented by the Global Energy Association and Gazprom jointly. On December 22nd, National Economy Achievement Exhibition hosted the award ceremony dedicated to Power Engineers' Day in Moscow. At that day Anna did had a compelling reason for not coming to the event — it was her wedding day. Therefore, she attended the event via the video message.

«My love for the profession, my experience at the Amur GPP and my desire to contribute to solving current production issues regarding gas processing directed me when preparing my project for the competition. I presented new solutions on improving safety of gas processing equipment under operation. I started working on this project while still in master's degree programme, and working at the plant helped me significantly amplify the research,» said Anna Igoshina.

Anna Igoshina's competitive project will be published in the first issue of the scientific peer-reviewed journal Gas Industry for 2024. In addition, the winners' researches will be published in the annual compendium 10 Groundbreaking Ideas in Energy for Next 10 Years of the Global Energy Association. It was thanks to the Young Scientist 4.0 programme that Anna was able to attend international lectures by famous scientists.

Anna is a native of the Amur Region; she was born and raised in Skovorodino town. Having graduated from Amur State University in the field of Chemical Technology, she came to Svobodny and has been working at Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (investor, owner and operator of the Amur GPP) for two years. She was granted Young Specialist status. Anna analyzes sales gas in the central plant laboratory to determine the component composition and impurities. It is worth noting that her husband Kirill, a process unit operator at the Amur GPP, supported his wife in creating the competitive project.
