Yuri Lebedev, the Director General of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, Headed the State Examination Board for Chemical Processes Graduates

The second group of students of Department of Engineering and Physics with majors in Chemical Processes have graduated. In this year the State Examination Board was headed by Yuri Lebedev. 14 chemistry students have successfully defended their degree theses, prepared with taking into consideration the needs of the leading enterprises of the chemical industry, and first and foremost — the needs of Amur Gas Processing Plant. Seven of the graduates are going to build their careers on Amur Gas Processing Plant.

Describing the graduation of students, Yuri Lebedev noted: “We are interested in giving the local guys, the guys from Amur, an opportunity to find a good job after graduating from the university in the capital of their region. Amur Gas Processing Plant needs local high-skilled specialists. Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk cooperates with Amur State University. We invested our best efforts for provision of laboratory equipment and arrangement of intern programs, so that the students would not need anymore to leave their home place for studying. Now they have an opportunity to find a job that suits their desires and their skills”.

Andrey Plutenko, the Amur State University president, added: “Chemical Process specialty is getting more and more popular, because parents and their kids see as a worldwide-class plant is being built with provision of advantageous workplaces and opportunities of promotion. From our part, we educate the students in accordance with the needs of employers”.

The level of quality and subjects of diploma theses have proven a great level of skills of the graduates. Five of students have got an ‘A’ mark for their theses; seven of them have got ‘B’ mark. The examination board has noted few diploma theses based on data on Amur GPP. Six of these diploma theses were recommended for publication in scientific magazines.

Seven graduates have already decided to build their careers on Amur Gas Processing Plant.

Background

Amur State University is an educational partner of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk. The cooperation between AmSU and Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk has started in 2015, from the date of commencement of construction of Amur GPP. The Amur State University has a specialty program Chemical Processes, that trains the personnel demanded by Amur GPP. Besides, a program on material support of the university is being implemented. A three-party agreement on education of graduates of Amur State University in Gubkin University (Moscow) with support of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk is signed.
