The first large-tonnage equipment is installed at 5th and 6th process lines of Amur GPP

The propane extraction column (depropanizer) has been successfully installed at the gas fractionation unit of the fifth and sixth process lines of Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP). This is the first large-capacity equipment that was installed at the last lines of the plant.

The depropanizer allows to separate a sales propane fraction from natural gas liquids (NGL). The weight of the column is 194.5 tons, height is 54.1 m, diameter is 3.7 m.
By the end of August, it is also planned to install a butane extraction column on the gas fractionation unit of the fifth and sixth production lines. In total, three depropanizers-debutanizaers will be operated at the Amur GPP, one for every two process lines.

Справка

Amur GPP will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing plants. Its design capacity amount to 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will consist of six production lines, with the first two planned to be commissioned in 2021. In addition to methane, the GPP commercial products will include ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane fraction, and helium.
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management (part of SIBUR Group).
