Installation of the feed gas cooling unit commences on the third line of the Amur Gas Processing Plant
Installation of the cold box of feed gas has been completed on the third process line of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP). It is designed to cool the natural gas entering the plant before being fed to the gas separation columns and is an important element of the cryogenic gas separation complex.
Total weight of the installed equipment of the cold box is 1,400 tons, its height is more than 77 meters. The equipment consists of seven modules, and delivery of it to the construction site of the Amur GPP has taken about three months. The modules are assembled into a single unit using a crane with a lifting capacity of 1,600 tons. In 2018, two similar cold boxes for raw gas were installed on the first and second process lines of the Amur Gas Processing Plant.
Amur GPP of PJSC Gazprom will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing plants. Its design capacity amount to 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will consist of six production lines, with the first two planned to be commissioned in 2021. In addition to natural gas, the GPP commercial products will include ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane fraction, and helium. Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management (part of SIBUR Group).
