Propane and butane columns for third and fourth lines of the Amur Gas Processing Plant installed

The Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) now has the propane columns (depropanizer) and butane columns (debutanizer) of the gas fractionation unit for the third and fourth process lines in place. This equipment makes it possible to extract commercial fractions of propane and butane from a wide fraction of light hydrocarbons.

The weight of the depropanizer is 258 tons, its height is 54.3 m. The weight of the butane column is 134 tons, its height is 48 m.
In total, the plant will have three pairs of depropanizer and debutanizer, with one pair of columns for each two production lines. The first pair of such columns was installed at the Amur Gas Processing Plant in the summer of 2019.

Справка

Amur GPP of PJSC Gazprom will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing plants. Its design capacity amount to 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will consist of six production lines, with the first two planned to be commissioned in 2021. In addition to natural gas, the GPP commercial products will include ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane fraction, and helium.
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management (part of SIBUR Group).
