Svobodny public activists visit new school in company's residential district and new ecotrails for students on the eve of Knowledge Day

On August 25, Svobodny hosted a field meeting of the Public Council of the Amur GPP and Amur GCC projects. The Council members discussed the social and educational projects implemented by the gas chemical cluster companies on the eve of the Knowledge Day.

They visited the new Alekseevsky residential district for the employees of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (the investor, owner and operator of the Amur GPP). Twenty eight apartment blocks with 930 flats, a boiler house, a fire station, water supply facilities, a communication centre, a garage for utility equipment have been put into operation. The public activists were given a tour of the daycare and school built and equipped to the highest standards. The daycare has its own swimming pool, to name a few. The school hall has professional concert equipment, the science classrooms have full-fledged labs, and the library and the psychologist office have multimedia complexes.

«Both the building and the classroom equipment are astounding. I am confident that our new school in Svobodny is one of the best in Russia. I am sincerely glad for the students who will study here,» said Irina Romanova, a member of the Council and Director of the Svobodny social shelter.

An ecotrail developed by the Amur Gas Chemical Complex employees in the former arboretum of the forest experiment station in Svobodny was another item in the Council field meeting agenda. Svobodny residents like to walk and students have their tours there.

«Field meetings are very relevant for the Council's activities. We haven't just seen the new facilities in detail, but also discussed how to make the town life more interesting, shared ideas for the development of the leisure activities for teenagers and young people in Svobodny. Some exciting examples of initiatives implemented by both large companies and our small business are discussed at the Public Council,» said Galina Tkachenko, Chair of the Public Council of the Amur GPP and Amur GCC projects.
