Next environmental monitoring phase underway at Amur GPP
The professionals from the Center of Laboratory Analysis and Technical Measurement for the Far Eastern Federal District are working on the Amur GPP construction site for the fourth time this year. As usual, they are taking samples of atmospheric air and soil, checking the quality of surface waters and bottom sediments in the Bolshaya Pyora River and measuring the noise level.
Atmospheric air survey us carried out within the sanitary protection zone of the plant, as well as on the boundary of the nearest settlements of the Svobodnensky district: Yukhta, Dmitrievka, Chernigovka, and Ust-Pyora. Four measurements with three samples are taken at each monitoring station at different times of the day. Average daily values will be summarized based on said data. The environmental professionals determine the concentrations of dust and suspended particles, carbon and nitrogen oxides, nitrogen and sulfur dioxides, hydrocarbons, benzo[a]pyrene and hydrogen sulfide were determined.
The experts note already at the sampling stage that the preliminary results of the measurements do not show any deviations from the standards. The final results of the survey will be ready by mid-November.
Industrial environmental monitoring at the plant's construction site has been carried out ever since the beginning of the project. No violations have been detected during the entire monitoring period.
