The Public Council closing meeting of Amur GPP and Amur GCC projects was held in Svobodny. The participants summed up the results of the outgoing year, reviewed the implementation of social cooperation projects for new enterprises and the town, and discussed work plans for the future. The year that passed in the coronavirus pandemic conditions was not easy. Companies and the town had to solve new complex tasks related to the protection of people's health, emergency restructuring of the work ways and life in new realities.

«The town helped us, and we helped the town as much as we could — we faced these difficulties together,» said Yuri Lebedev, General Director of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk. He assessed the outgoing year as successful in general for the implementation of Amur GPP construction project. It was 2020 that became the peak both in terms of the work scopes on site of the future enterprise, and in terms of construction personnel mobilization.
«Now there are already 32 thousand construction workers at APGG site. During the summer navigation period, we were able to deliver all the planned key equipment ahead of schedule. Four process lines are fully equipped with the main large-sized units,» said Yuri Lebedev.
Through social partnership and charity, the previously planned amount was increased fourfold. The funds were sent to educational, medical, and social institutions in the town of Svobodny and Svobodnensky districts. Irina Dmitruk, Head of the Public Relations and Media Department of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, spoke in detail about these projects.
Construction of SIBUR's Amur Gas Chemical Complex began near Svobodny in 2020, which will become one of the world's largest producers of base polymers: polyethylene and polypropylene. Alexey Krynov, Head of Pyrolysis at the project office of Amur Gas Processing Plant, told representatives of the public Council about the status of the project and plans for 2021.
«Currently, the engineering preparation of construction site is in the final stage. Pile driving works are underway for pyrolysis installation, which is the core of Amur Gas Processing Plant, and a logistics platform, construction works to supply the site with electricity. Construction of field offices and related infrastructure getting to be completed. In the navigation of 2021, the first oversized cargoes will be delivered to =construction site, and installation of the first equipment will begin,» commented Alexey Krynov.
In 2020, a set of solutions was formed to improve the environmental friendliness of the enterprise in accordance with the best practices and industry standards in the field of sustainable development. These include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a closed water cycle, minimizing waste moved to storage, using renewable energy sources, and improving environmental friendliness and product safety. The implementation of activities under the program and strategy on environment, biodiversity conservation, water and other resources management will continue in 2021.
Svobodny and Blagoveshchensk were also included in the SIBUR's Formula for Good Deeds grant competition for socially significant projects in 2020. The competition received more than 70 projects from public organizations and initiative citizens.
Employees of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, SIBUR, NIPIGAZ and Tecnimont Russia were presented with recognition letters on behalf of the head of Svobodny Administration Vladimir Konstantinov, as well as from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs for their contribution to the organization of the All-Russian Mutual Aid Campaign «We're Together» (MyVmeste), help volunteers, doctors and people in the period of the pandemic, the active development of social projects.
«Our Public Council has been working for 4 years. During this time, we managed to solve many questions received from the population. Companies implementing projects are open to dialogue, promptly respond to requests from members of the Public Council, and never leave them unanswered. Provide the requested information in a timely manner. We would especially like to note the fact that our interaction is not limited to joint meetings. Rather, they serve as an additional tool for dialogue. Joint constructive and effective work is carried out in a continuous mode. Including those within the implementation of numerous social projects and even entire programs, charity events and actions,» said Galina Tkachenko, Chairman of the Public Council of AGPP and AGCC.
