Russian industry development bolstered by Gazprom and Linde’s partnership

A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Aldo Belloni, Chief Executive Officer of Linde, took place at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2017.

The parties emphasized the strategic nature of cooperation between the companies and reviewed the current status of Gazprom’s projects involving Linde.

Among other things, the meeting touched upon the construction of Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) where Linde’s technologies will be utilized. The preparations at the site for the process facilities of the GPP’s first start-up complex are 95 per cent complete. Priority equipment for the said facilities will be supplied to the GPP in Q3 2017.

Alexey Miller and Aldo Belloni stressed the importance of having launched a facility based in St. Petersburg for manufacturing the key components, i.e. spiral heat exchangers, of the equipment for cryogenic recovery of gas components. The first products of the joint venture established by Linde and Power Machines PJSC are intended for Amur GPP.

Localization of heat exchanger manufacturing in Russia had been made possible thanks to the close cooperation between Gazprom, Linde and domestic mechanical engineering companies.

Background

Linde AG is one of the world's largest companies focused on industrial technologies for natural gas treatment and separation with the recovery of ethane, propane and heavier hydrocarbon fractions. In addition, the company designs and builds cryogenic facilities for natural gas and helium liquefaction.

Amur GPP will be built near Svobodny in Amur region. Its annual design capacity will be 42 BCMPA of gas. The largest helium production facility in the world will be part of Amur GPP.

Linde will supply Amur GPP with the core process equipment for cryogenic recovery of helium and valuable petrochemical components.
