Gazprom launches two lines at Amur GPP

Moscow. September 11. INTERFAX.RU — Gazprom has launched two process lines at the Amur Gas Processing Plant, said Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Vitaly Markelov at the Eastern Economic Forum.

«Amur GPP is both in operation and under construction. The gas separation process lines were put into commercial operation on August 28, 2023,» he said. He added that the plant began shipping helium on September 5. Mr Markelov reminded that the plant licensor Linde had exited the project.

«Our Russian engineers have successfully commissioned this plant. We plan to launch two more lines early next year and put all the plant lines in operation by 2026,» he announced.

As reported, similar gas leaks with fire occurred during commissioning on the equipment designed and supplied by Linde: on process line 2 in October 2021 and process line 1 in January 2022. Three months after the second fire, Linde announced the suspension of its projects in Russia in March.

Amur GPP is located near the town of Svobodny, Amur region. It will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing plants. Design capacity of the plant is 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It consists of six lines, each featuring 7 billion cubic meters of raw gas of processing capacity per year. Commissioning of the plant lines is synchronized with the ramp-up in gas transportation via the Power of Siberia.
