111 students of leading Russian universities to undergo on-the-job training at Amur GPP this year, including 16 graduates of Gazprom class

Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (the investor, owner and operator of the Amur GPP) has been accepting students from the leading Russian universities and the partner universities of PJSC Gazprom for on-the-job training for several years. In 2023, 111 students will have their on-the-job training at one of the largest gas processing plants in the country. Among them are sixteen graduates of Gazprom class at school No. 1 in Svobodny. They, as students, are getting acquainted with the advanced equipment of the Amur GPP and are learning the detailed design documentation, occupational safety, industrial and fire safety.

In the group of students undergoing on-the-job training at the plant, there are two graduates from the second set of Gazprom class who received matriculation certificates in 2021. Aleksandra Vagner went to Gazprom class at school No. 1 in Svobodny from the neighboring town of Tsiolkovsky. She has been studying at the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in the field of Chemical Technology. Her classmate Vladimir Astafyev, the winner of the All-Russian School Competition Big Change, has been studying at the Saint Petersburg Mining University. After graduation he will become a professional in the field of IT technologies.

«The Gazprom class gave me the strong knowledge base and confidence in the future. So, I had no worries when entering to the university. The Gazprom class graduates are ready for any challenges. My life plan is scheduled for the next five years. I will come to work at the Amur GPP in Svobodny. I believe that this is a very interesting project,» said Vladimir Astafyev.

Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk initiated the establishment of the Gazprom class at school No. 1 in Svobodny back in 2017. The students of the sponsored Gazprom class have been studying the profile subjects in depth for two years: mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science. They have been participating in the industry-level academic competitions and student gatherings, competitions of the research projects and visiting the Amur GPP construction site. The best graduates have the opportunity to become sponsored students of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk and continue their studies at the Amur State and Far Eastern Federal Universities, as well as at Gazprom's partner universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, and Ufa. 73 students have been trained in the Gazprom class in Svobodny for all the time. The sponsored students of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk made up almost half of them. The fourth competitive enrollment in Gazprom class for 2023–2025 among 9th grade graduates in the Amur Region is being completed at school No. 1 in Svobodny.
