Amur region hosts training for teachers working with disabled children under Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk sponsorship
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk purchased training equipment for the Amur public organization for the support of persons with disabilities and their families Mir Bez Granits. Public activists have organized seven seminars and workshops in the Amur region on alternative methods for communication with non-speaking disabled children with the support of the company.
The seminars also included 15 master classes and more than 30 practical classes with children using the equipment. It was attended by some two thousand people: teachers and, among them, those working at preschools, students, future special-education teachers, and parents of children with disabilities.
«It is very important for non-speaking children with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation and other genetic diseases to communicate with people around them. Alternative communication means can help them. We have managed to purchase the necessary communicators, buttons, PECS and Makaton cards and musical instruments with the support of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk. We are sharing our experience of using the equipment with the Amur region residents who raise children with disabilities,» says Tatyana Karimova, Mir Bez Granits chairperson.
The seminars took place also in Svobodny, with the Amur GPP in construction in its surroundings (Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC is the investor, owner and operator of the plant). In December, Svobodny school No. 5 hosted a seminar and workshop for 32 specialists and 9 parents with children with disabilities. The teachers and parents highly appreciate the project and intend to use the acquired skills for further work with children.
