Interactive project for schoolchildren «Safety and Me» launched with the support of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC

A series of interactive lectures for schoolchildren «Safety and Me» has launched in Svobodny. These are the classes where children are taught to avoid threats and injuries in everyday life, to react quickly and competently to unexpected hazardous situations, to analyze the risks that children may face. This social and educational project was prepared due to the initiative of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (owner and investor of the construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant), the public association Youth Leisure Center «Visit» with the support of the Administration of Svobodny.

During the classes, the professionals talk about some important and serious things in a way that is understandable for children: the risks of falling, getting into water or a burning building, poisoning, insect and animal bites, as well as other cases in which one can get injured, burned or frostbitten.
«Often, the life and health of a child depends on how ready he or she is for an unexpected situation. The children learned about who dogs don't like, why you can't walk in the forest in a woolen jacket, how to determine which ice you can walk on, and other useful things. We explain why one needs to know the parent phone numbers by heart, how to protect oneself from falling on the street and not get a fracture, why in a movie theater and other buildings, one needs to remember the location of the „Emergency Exit“ signs, so that in case of a dangerous situation, one can quickly get out,» explained Ksenia Chudakova, employee of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC and the moderator of the project.
Each topic was supported by a game: a quiz and a script for a film, which was impromptu shot right in the classroom. All children received memos with safety rules, reflective stickers and themed bookmarks.

«The children listened as if spellbound, learned a lot of new things, repeated what they already knew. I think that these interactive lectures are very necessary for children. It is also useful for adults to attend such life lessons,» said Tatyana Novokhatskaya, homeroom teacher of class 4B of school 2.
Such classes within the framework of a series of interactive lectures for schoolchildren «Safety and Me» aimed at development of risk-oriented thinking will be held at various educational and leisure sites in the city of Svobodny and Svobodnensky district.
«We plan to involve not only professionals of the Amur Gas Processing Plant, who helped us develop and launch the project. We will invite the representatives of medical institutions, firefighters and other specialized services. Children sincerely respond to and participate in the classes,» said Galina Tkachenko, head of the Vizit Center.
