Construction workers started the first phase of the project, namely, levelling of 92.5 ha area. Significant earthwork needs to be done. Current height differential at the site is 16 m. When the levelling operations are complete, it will be +/- 5 cm. Twenty-one items of out-of-service structures will have to be dismantled. The area will be ready for construction of infrastructure by mid-2018 according to the schedule.
One hundred and fifty items of equipment and over 200 construction workers will be involved in the earthworks at site. To minimize the impact of construction on the residents of the neighbouring houses, the site will be fenced. However, construction and cargo-handling vehicles will only enter the site from the side of the roundabout motor road.
The area is designed to accommodate 5,000 residents. It will have over 167K sq m of accommodation area, a daycare facility for 350 children equipped with an indoor swimming pool, a secondary school for 900 students, a clinic with a pharmacy, an entertainment centre, a general sports complex, a housekeeping service centre, an administrative and office centre, stores, car parking lots, and a fire depot. The first houses will be commissioned late-2019 according to the schedule. The whole residential district will have been complete by 2024. Social, cultural and housekeeping service locations will be available for all of the town residents.
Amur GPP will become Russia’s largest natural gas processing plant and one of the largest plants globally. Its annual design capacity will be 42 BCMPA of gas. The plant will also include the world’s largest facility for helium recovery with the capacity of up to 60 MCMPA of gas.
Amur GPP is an important link in the process chain of natural gas supplies to China in the Eastern route. The plant will receive the feed multi-component gas from Power of Siberia gas pipeline from the Yakutskand Irkutsk gas production centres currently developed by Gazprom with its Eastern gas program.
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of Amur Gas Processing Plant project.
Construction is managed by NIPIGAS, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management (member of SIBUR Group).
