Second helium fine purification, liquefaction and loading unit of Amur GPP achieves mechanical completion

Mechanical completion of the helium fine purification, liquefaction and loading unit has been achieved on the Amur GPP process line 3. All construction and installation works have been completed and a full range of pre-commissioning know as cold commissioning has been performed. These include loop and functional tests, blowdown and dehydration of the cold box, adjustment of heat tracing circuits of the equipment. Individual tests of rotating equipment have been performed and fire water supply and foam extinguishing systems have been checked and tested. Commissioning tests will be performed on the unit in near future.

It is planned to build 3 helium fine purification, liquefaction and loading units in total at the Amur GPP. And each of them is designed for the annual production of up to 20 million cubic meters of liquefied helium of the highest purification degree (99.9995%). This gas is used for high-tech industries.

The Amur GPP will annually produce 60 million cubic meters of helium and will become the world leader in its production after commissioning of all three helium units. Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the investor, owner and operator of the Amur GPP. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC.
