Students are having on-the-job training at Amur GPP

16 students of the Amur Technical College in Svobodny are having their on-the-job training at the Amur Gas Processing Plant. All of them are going to complete training in the following professions this year: environmental laboratory assistant, technological pump and compressor operator, oil refinery operator.

«Students will pass a graded test, provide their trainee's logs, receive their reference letters and certification sheets from their mentors according to the results of the training. Training at the Amur GPP is an opportunity to improve skills at the most modern gas processing plant in Russia, it is a chance to prove oneself, and get a good job near home,» says Elena Gubar, Deputy Director of the Amur Technical College for vocational training.
Future environmental laboratory assistants study the laboratory equipment used in the environmental analytical laboratory of the plant. They participate in sampling and testing of potable water samples by photometric, potentiometric, titrimetric and gravimetric methods, as well as in direct measurements of atmospheric air quality at the border of the sanitary protection zone of the plant.
Future locksmiths in charge of repair of process units work in the maintenance and repair workshop: they perform locksmith operations for processing of parts, participate in tests of shut-off and control valves for their tightness, check and adjust belt gears on air coolers.
In addition, the students who have decided to obtain the profession of a process pump and compressor operator make rounds of equipment, monitoring and maintaining the process at the nitrogen and air generation plant in the heat and gas supply shop. All works are conducted under the guidance of experienced mentors. Also, the students get acquainted with the production regulations, occupational safety instructions, and other mandatory documents of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, the investor, owner and operator of the Amur GPP.
«We are looking at the equipment in operation here, production tours at various units are conducted for us. We also study the necessary regulations. All of this helps us to better prepare for the final exams. I hope that I will pass all exams well and come to the plant as a young professional,» Anastasia Ponamorenko, a student of the Amur Technical College, shared her impressions.

Narek Bagdasaryan, a master's student at the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, is having an on-the-job training at the Amur GPP together with Svobodny residents. He does not hide his emotions from working at the plant:
«I am majoring in chemical processes of fuel and gas in the sophomore year of my master's and this is my first on-the-job training at a gas processing plant. My impressions are it's unbelievable! It is a huge modern plant, and getting a job right here is a priority.»

The on-the-job training for the students will finish in late April.
