EkoSvoboda environmental project presented to Svobodny public at Amur GPP/Amur GCC Public Council meeting

The agenda of the first meeting of the Public Council of Amur GPP and Amur GCC projects in 2022 was devoted to discussing the joint events within the framework of the 110th anniversary of the founding of the town of Svobodny. As one of the gifts, the companies of the gas chemical cluster have presented EkoSvoboda (EcoFreedom) project with environmental activities. Its goal is to improve the quality of the environment and public spaces in the town of Svobodny and Svobodnensky district.

Project partners are Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC, Amur GCC LLC, NIPIGAS JSC, and Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk LLC. The companies will not only support the All-Russian campaigns called Chisty Gorod (Clean City), Alleya Slavy (Walk of Fame), and Sad Pamyati (Garden of Memory), but will also implement their own corporate environmental events. It is planned to do the following with Svobodny residents:

• hold a competition of school projects called «Environmental protection, conservation and development of biodiversity in the territory of Svobodny»;
• hold a round table on environmental topics with social activists and bloggers;
• develop separate waste collection and handover for subsequent recycling;
• improve public spaces;
• hold a photo exhibition on environmental topics;
• landscape the territories of schools and orphanages.

Landscaping measures will be implemented not only in Svobodny, but also in the villages of Svobodnensky district.

«Svobodny will celebrate 110 years on August 12, 2022. It will be very good that we will celebrate the birthday in the clean and blooming Svobodny. This is what EkoSvoboda project is designed to do, and everyone can take part in it,» says Galina Tkachenko, chair of the Public Council of Amur GPP and Amur GCC projects.

In addition, the representatives of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk and Amur GCC talked about the work that is currently underway at the construction sites of Amur GPP and Amur GCC during the meeting. Employees of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk and NIPIGAS presented a detailed report on the measures taken to monitor the environment and the measures to improve the quality of the environment in the construction area of Amur GPP. In conclusion, Rafael Musin, head of the Environmental Department of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, donated a collection of photographs «Amur GPP surrounded by nature» to Amur Technical College and school 1 of the town of Svobodny. The company's educational partners plan to create permanent expositions based on them.
