4th process line methane extraction column delivered to Amur Gas Processing Plant

The largest equipment for 4th process line, which is a methane extraction column (demethanizer), delivered to Amur GPP berth.

This is also the most large-sized and heavy-tonnage equipment of all to be delivered to Amur GPP during the summer navigation period of 2020. Demethanizer weight is 870 tons, the length is 88 m. Cranes with a lifting capacity of 1,350 and 750 tons were installed at the temporary jetty of the Amur GPP for loading and unloading operations. Truck cranes and mobile modular conveyors have been mobilized to this equipment to construction site.

«The demethanizer is the core of our technology, it the very unit where methane is separated from other valuable fractions. This unit operates at a pressure of 30 atmospheres, the temperature reaches up to —100 C°. It is important that the gas will be processed here, at the enterprise in the Russian Federation, to produce products with high added value,» said Yuri Lebedev, General Director of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk.

In total, during the summer navigation of 2020, it is planned to deliver 43 units of equipment with a total weight of about 8 thousand tons to construction site of Amur GPP. 13 barge-towing arrangements will be used to transport cargo along the Russian rivers.

Справка

Amur GPP will become one of the world's largest natural gas processing plants. Its design capacity amount to 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The plant will consist of six production lines, with the first two planned to be commissioned in 2021. In addition to methane, the GPP commercial products will include ethane, propane, butane, pentane and hexane fraction, and helium.
Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC (member of Gazprom Group) is the Investor and Owner of the Amur Gas Processing Plant project. Construction is managed by NIPIGAS JSC, a leading Russian centre for engineering, procurement, logistics and construction management (part of SIBUR Group).
