A modern multi-purpose stadium was opened at the school of Yukhta as part of Gazprom for Children Program
A modern multi-purpose stadium was opened at the school of Yukhta on August 21. The stadium is the first facility built in Svobodnensky district as part of Gazprom for Children Program.
The ceremony was attended by Elvira Agafonova, the head of Svobodnensky District, Evgeniy Lobanov, Deputy Minister for Physical Culture and Sports of the Amur Region, Evgeniy Baklanov, Deputy Director General for Human Resources, and representatives of sports and public organizations.
The new stadium features a soccer field with artificial turf, basketball and volleyball courts. Athletes will be able to practice on racecourses and at the phyiscal training site. The stadium also features comfort for fans — the stadium is equipped with a metal grandstand with canopy.
«This program is implemented in the Amur Region with help of Gazprom. Moreover, such stadium is not the only one — such facilities are built around the whole region. In 2019 we asked the governor to include our district into this program, and we're thankful for his response» — explained Elvira Agafonova, the head of the district.
Evgeniy Lobanov, the Deputy Minister for Physical Culture and Sports of the Amur Region, added «We hope the stadium will be highly demanded — we plan to conclude competitions in here, so that we could make Svobodnensky District one of the sport leaders of Amur Region», noting that it is the 23rd facility built in the region for the last 4 years under the Gazprom for Children Program.
«It is always a pleasure to open new facilities. We wish you luck, success in sports events, and — of course — we wish you victories. Now it's your place, so take care of it» — Yevgeny Baklanov, Deputy General Director for Human Resources of Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk, addressed the athletes.
The new stadium will be not just the place for school students, but for all the fans of sports. First competitions happened the day of the stadium opening. The ceremony was also accompanied by a relay race on the racecourses.
